Physical Description: Around five feet, seven inches, he sports a wrestler's body with broad shoulders and narrow waist. He has managed to avoid becoming overly blocky and is proud of his physique. Zreig's skin is naturally tanned, and his hands sport rough callouses from his early work as a carpenter, and from his later work on Pern. He is fairly good looking, with medium length brown hair with natural lighter blond tints and light brown eyes that sport a hint of green. His lips are full and can quickly turn from a smile to a snarl.

Personality: Zreig, for all he tries, has a difficult time with his temper. Since meeting his fiance, he has struggled to control his bad habit of letting his temper run wild. Once a heavy drinker, he now abstains from any alcoholic drink at all, and often tries to convince his fiance Camig to lay off of her tendecy to drink. When his temper is not hot, he is easy to get a long with, though sometimes he has a tendecy to be cocky. A proud person, he is thankful for his success as a sled pilot. Very few people other than his fiance and his adopted daughters get to see his tender side.

Background: Born in Minneapolis, he was raised in the downtown area in a less than traditional home. His mother died while he was young, and a negligent father led to him being shipped between his aunts from one side of Minneapolis to another. Finally, when the Pern expedition came up, they saw the chance to get rid of the kid that disrupted their own family life. Zreig, too young to fully grasp the situation, was given to a family that volunteered for the trip. Aghast at the way he was raised, the patriarch of the family, Alexander Josin, made sure that Zreig became accustomed to the small family. As they left on the trip, Zreig's memories of his difficult life became only a memory.

Life on Pern was good for Zreig. As a child that treasured the outdoors, he was given the chance to excel in Alexander's craft, which was carpentry. Having always been skilled with his hands, Zreig became efficient at carving and creating masterpieces out of wood. Unfortunately, a fight over customers led to a rift between Alexander and Zreig, one which his adopted mother Dorothy, and his sister Loretta could not even patch together. It was not until Thread fell that Zreig truly regretted never repairing his and Alexander's relationship. Zreig and his sister, with the encouragement of their dragonets, managed to get to safety under a rock overhang. It was not until after the disaster that Zreig learned of his adopted father's death. He blamed himself for the death, and turned to drinking the fine wines Alexander had laid aside. The increased rages and temper tantrums pushed Dorothy and Loretta away from him, and it was not long before Zreig found himself alone.

One fateful day, while returning from a lesson in piloting the sled crafts, Zreig ran into, literally, the small firecracker tempered Camig. Their relationship was full of fire, with either side being short tempered. Zreig wished for Camig to move in with him, but did not feel ready to take on the responsibility of fatherhood due to the two young girls she had adopted. Camig wished him to stop drinking. Finally, faced with losing her, Zreig gave up drinking, and eventually, welcomed the two small girls, Malaika and Dinah, into his life. He began to enjoy having his own family, and struggled to mend his relationship with Dorothy and Loretta. Loretta managed to forgive him, but Dorothy, to this day, never has. With his newfound sobriety, he found that piloting sleds came very easy to him and excelled in the program, and graduated shortly after proposing to Camig.

The Dragon Project always interested him, being that he is the owner of three rambunctious dragonets. He recently entered his application as a candidate, along with his fiance, and waits the results. The news of his applying was something that delighted him since it gave him more reasons to continue to heal their relationship.

Pets:
Craz- A fat, indolent brown that prefers to ride on Zreig or one of his loved ones rather than fly. His chocolate brown hide is even in color.
Pipsqueak- A tiny, noisy little green that loves nothing more than stealing Craz's roost or goading stolid GoGo. Her hide is a flamboyant, bright green that with lighter speckles on her back.
GoGo- A large, motherly green that often gaurds Zreig's children. She is very protective of her loved ones. Her hide is a medium shade of green and her wingsails tend to be yellowish looking.
