Physical Description: Sandy has gray, almond-shaped eyes, dark skin, and medium-brown hair. Her hair is thin, straight, and chopped short to fit under a riding helmet. She's short, 5'2", with a naturally sturdy build--wide shoulders and strong hips--that is slowly fleshing out as she recovers from her ordeal in the north.

Background: Sandy was born on Earth and came to Pern at age seven. She followed her parents North but lost them to the first harsh winter. Her brother struck out east, leaving her alone at Cave Hold. She returned to the south with Belle and Lilly and applied as a candidate. She was accepted and Impressed gold Caorth.

Family/Friends: Parents - Rob and Lila Avoire, 49 and 46 when died, farmers, deceased

Siblings - Erik (m), 20, herder, gone North and then East

Rachel (f), Braden (m), Sharla (f), Minny (f), Emily (f) - 18, 13, 10, 4, and 2 respectively when died. Rachel had some, but very little, vet training, and the others hadn’t had much or any schooling due to going North.
