Physical Description: Kailani is average height, about 5'5", with long, straight, black hair and beautiful chocolate colored, almond shaped eyes. Being a fisherman has built up her strength, but not to the point where she's musclebound. She can act very ladylike when she wants to and proper manners, combined with her soft island accent, only add to the mirage. Appearances, however, can be deceiving, and though she may look sweet and innocent, underneath that flowery exterior lays a wild-cat of a girl who will dare to do almost anything. She is, of course, an excellent swimmer, and goes swimming as often as she can in her off time. Her hands, while calloused on the palms, and well used, can be very gentle. Oh...and she has a bad habit of biting her nails. No matter how she tries to break herself of it, she just can't seem to quit.

Personality: She's not the most talkative person in the bunch, but speaks her mind when she feels the need. Though not really much of a loner at heart, Kailani tends to remain quiet and alone most of the time, even when she is seen hanging around with the other fishermen, and a few of the dolphineers. Swimming brings her in contact with many of the dolphins, who like to play tag with her. Her one biggest pet peave is when people start to say something, then say 'Oh, never mind' or 'Oh, don't worry about it.' That just drives her crazy. One thing she is also known for is her stubbornness.

Background: She came to Pern to get away from her too numerous family, which, ironically, owned a fishing boat. Being one of seven children, most of them girls, she longed to break away and make a new life for herself. Well, this was certainly the way to do it. She isn't particularly close to her sisters, but very close to her brother, though, unknown to anyone, he is only a half brother. Hopes of starting a new family were dashed when the man she was in love with refused to come with her. Ah well, the promise of a new start, and an interesting new world drew her on. Once she got settled in on Pern, she did fall in love with someone else....and once again, she ended up losing him. He went North, and she never heard from him again (he was killed in the cave-in caused by the earthquake). Now, she is afraid to fall in love again, and keeps to herself. The advent of a new species, the dragons, was of great interest to her, but her place was in the water, not the air, so, she wasn't really open to being a candidate for Impression..however, the dragons have a mind of their own, and choose who they will.
